Skarðsvík Beach

While Kirkjufell is clearly the main draw on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, it would be a shame to overlook Skarðsvík Beach. The golden sands and turquoise water cut a sharp contrast to the surrounding dark, volcanic landscape.

Getting There: Skarðsvík Beach

To get to Skarðsvík Beach, follow the main road of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Útnesvegur (Nr. 574), before turning west onto Öndverðarnesvegur (Nr. 579). It is a gravel road but we were able to get there with our small city car.
